Actress Gabrielle Union recently revealed she’s had multiple miscarriages while trying to start a family with her NBA star husband Dwayne Wade. In her soon to be released book We’re Going To Need More Wine, Union talks about her struggles with infertility and tries to lower the stigma around a topic that affects millions of couples.

Union writes in her book: For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant – I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.”

This is a reality many women can relate to. Despite her struggles with IVF, Union and her husband Wade are still very much in love and continue to try for a baby. She gushes about Wade often. The couple have been married since August 2014.

Union is stepmom to Wade’s three kids, which was the spark that made her want to have a baby of her own. At first, she didn’t think kids were going to be in the cards. Union told PEOPLE magazine “I never wanted kids. Then I became a stepmom, and there was no place I’d rather be than with them.”

Her husband Wade supports her all the way and sent out a tweet “My wife is one strong individual!!!!”  Here’s hoping the couple is able to make their baby dreams come true.
