Why We Like It: Well first off, we like smoothies. It’s a great, healthy way to start your day. What we don’t always like is the hassle it takes to make them (planning, shopping, measuring, etc.). GreenBlender solves for this by sending everything you need right to your front door.

GreenBlender is a smoothie club that delivers all the fresh ingredients you need on a monthly basis. They focus on sourcing from organic farms, urban and local farms, green markets, and vendors who value sustainable practices whenever possible.

They do a nice job with packaging. Everything is insulated and wrapped so it arrives cool and intact. Each package is small and clearly labeled for easy storage too. Plus, they send a big straw to make smoothie sipping easier.

This is a great way to try out the whole morning smoothie thing and figure out what you like. It’s also a good way to up your daily serving of fruits and vegetables. Most people fall far short of their daily produce recommendations.

What You Should Know:  Each week, GreenBlender sends members original recipes and pre-portioned ingredients to make smoothies. Every box includes all of the ingredients needed to make 5 different recipes, with 2 servings in each recipe (for a total of 10 smoothie servings).

You pick the 5 most appealing smoothies from a selection of 8, and you’re good to go!

You can pause your subscription from your account page, so it’s easy to skip a week or to receive only a certain number of boxes each month.

Each week has a theme, like Calming Smoothies or Vitamin C Infused Smoothies. Along with your box of ingredients, you get 1 colorful recipe card with all 5 of the week’s smoothies. You have the option of making them with any liquid, though their recipes recommend 1 cup water and 1 cup ice. You can also use non-dairy milk to experiment and boost the calories and texture.

GreenBlender also includes a tips/information guide with the package.  You can learn some interesting facts about fruits and vegetables, the best way to layer smoothie ingredients in a blender, and some of the benefits of the superfoods (chia seeds, cacao powder, spirulina, etc.) GreenBlender uses in their smoothies.

The best part? All you’ve got to do is follow the recipe – basically, prep the produce, throw it all in and blend. It makes starting out your day on a healthy note pretty darned easy.
